International Symposium "Legal Contemporary Institutions within the Context of European Integration", IVth Edition

The symposium will take place on the Romanian American University's campus, Bucharest, Romania, during 12 - 13 of November 2010.

The recent successful integration of new countries into the European Union, as well as the EU legal and political challenges determined us to consider the topic of legal contemporary institutions within the context of the European integration one, which is of great interest to be addressed by the Romanian and the European Academia. Permanently, the EU and its Member States need to come up with strategies to adapt the integration process to the specific judicial and educational needs of the region. In this context, the Symposium will address the following subjects:

  • 1. The Higher Education Reform According to the Bologna Process;
  • 2. Realities and Perspectives of the Romanian Law Sistem within the Context ot the Romania's EU Integration;
  • 3. The Law Protection of the Human Rights.


  • The participants' papers will be reviewed, edited and published as conference proceedings.
    Paper proposals should be sent by e-mail to icj@rau.ro or on-line registered HERE, no latter than October 10th, 2010. It should be one page in length and must be accompanied by a CV. Accommodation will be covered by the organizers only for a limited number of foreign participants.
    Applicants selected by the organizing committee for participation in the event will receive further information. The final publishing paper should have no more than 5000 words. For citations, formatting and grammar style we kindly recommend you to follow The Chicago Manual of Style (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide.html), but it is not compulsory. The final publishing paper has to be sent to the Scientific Committee by October 20h, 2010; all papers sent after this date can be presented at the conference but WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED IN THE PROCEEDINGS VOLUME.
