Korea Corner Anniversary Gala: A Wave of K-Pop | October 7, 2026
The Romanian-Korean Studies Center (CSRK) at the Romanian-American University, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Romania, organizes a new series of events dedicated to Korean culture.
The Korea Corner Anniversary Gala, which will take place on Wednesday, October 7, at 19:00, in the Aula Magna of the Romanian-American University, will mark the opening of the 11th edition of the K-Lovers Festival, held from October 7 to 16, 2026.
This year’s Gala offers an introduction to the vibrant world of K-Pop music through a live performance by four artists from the Republic of Korea: Lee Yuri, Song Damee, Jeon Yeonjung and Jeong Hyeon. The four guest artists have experience in musicals, theatre, film and other stage productions and will bring to Bucharest, through live reinterpretations of well-known K-Pop songs, the energy and diversity of the contemporary Korean scene.
The Gala program will also feature a pan flute performance by Jong-soo Jung (Ioan Jung), a Korean artist who studied music in Bucharest and was a disciple of maestro Gheorghe Zamfir. The evening will also include an awards ceremony honoring the top students of the Romanian-Korean Studies Center, as well as special K-Pop dance performances prepared by Syzygy.
In addition, the Gala will offer participants a unique opportunity to discover and taste a varied selection of premium traditional Korean wines (K-SOOL). We warmly invite everyone attending to enjoy this special experience.
K-Lovers Festival 2026
Starting on October 8, the K-Lovers Festival continues with three series of themed workshops: K-Literature, K-Pop Dance and K-Beauty, made possible with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the King Sejong Institute Foundation.
The workshops will be led by specialists from the Republic of Korea. Participants may choose only one session from the three available options for each workshop.
Behind the Scenes: A Career in K-Entertainment
The festival program also includes, on Friday, October 9, at 18:30, in the Protocol Room of the Romanian-American University, the seminar “Behind the Scenes: A Career in K-Entertainment”, which will bring together all seven guests from the Republic of Korea involved in the production of the K-pop performance featured at the Korea Corner Gala: A Wave of K-Pop: Lee Yuri, Song Damee, Jeon Yeonjung, Jeong Hyeon, Lee Jiyoung, Shin Dahye and Shin Jiwon.
During the meeting, they will discuss about their professional journeys, the necessary preparation for a career in the entertainment industry, the projects they have been involved in, the collaboration between professionals on stage and behind the scenes, as well as the challenges and realities that audiences do not usually see. Designed as an open dialogue with the audience, the seminar will give participants the opportunity to gain, directly from industry professionals, a behind-the-scenes perspective on the world of K-Entertainment.
