ENGLISH TAUGHT PROGRAMS

The School of Architecture at Romanian-American University was created for students who want more than just a degree. It was designed for those seeking an international education, modern professional skills, and direct access to global career opportunities. Our partnership with NewSchool of Architecture & Design offers an international academic pathway: three years of study in Bucharest, two years in the United States, and a return for the final year in Bucharest, with the opportunity to pursue a dual degree.

The admission score is based on two equally weighted components:

  • 50% High School Graduation Exam (Baccalaureate) Average
  • 50% Practical Drawing Exam Score

The practical exam evaluates your ability to represent ideas and spaces through creative and analytical drawing exercises. You will complete at least two drawing tasks on the same sheet, where you must interpret and represent spaces, volumes, or situations described in the assignment using the graphic technique specified in the exam. No formal drawing training is required. However, it is recommended that you practice drawing and spatial thinking before the admission exam. The test focuses more on your ability to think, observe, and interpret space than on artistic perfection, but regular practice can greatly improve your performance.

Benefits included:

  • Dual Degree Through the Partnership with NewSchool of Architecture & Design – USA
This is one of the most valuable opportunities in the program. You can study in the United States during your fourth and fifth years and earn two degrees through the dual-degree pathway. It is an experience that helps turn your studies into an international career before graduation.
  • Design Studios Led by Architects with International Experience
Throughout the six-year program, you will take part in design studios guided by professors and architects with international academic and professional experience. They bring real projects, current ideas, and global industry standards into the learning process.
  • Masterclasses with International Architects
In addition to your regular professors, you will attend special sessions led by experts from international universities and major architecture firms. These masterclasses provide new perspectives, real industry insights, and valuable networking opportunities.
  • International Study Opportunities Through Erasmus+ and Academic Partnerships
Through URA’s international network, you can study at architecture universities across Europe with Erasmus+ support. These experiences help you build a stronger portfolio and résumé while gaining international exposure.
  • Internships with Architecture Firms
Through the faculty’s professional network, you can access internships where you learn how projects are developed, how teams work together, and how architects collaborate with clients and consultants. This is where academic knowledge becomes real-world experience.
  • Site Visits and Technical Training
Site visits and technical practice help you understand how buildings are actually constructed. You learn why materials, construction details, and technical coordination are just as important as the original design idea.
  • Advanced Digital Facilities – VR, AR, 3D Printing, and CNC
During your studies, you will have access to advanced digital facilities, including virtual and augmented reality labs, 3D printers, CNC equipment, and professional design software. You will not just learn about these technologies, you will use them in your own projects from the early years of the program.
