Universitatea Româno-Americană a găzduit Conferința de diseminare PREV-HED
On 11 June 2026, the Romanian-American University hosted in Bucharest the dissemination conference “Preventing Sexual Violence and Harassment in Higher Education (PREV-HED): Project Results and Good Practices from Partner Countries”, organized within the Erasmus+ project PREV-HED (2023-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000152633).
The event brought together representatives of partner institutions, academic staff, experts, and stakeholders interested in strengthening prevention, reporting, and support mechanisms in higher education. The conference highlighted the main project results, good practices from partner countries, and practical approaches to creating safer, more inclusive, and respectful academic environments.
The opening remarks were delivered by the Romanian-American University, followed by an introductory presentation of the PREV-HED project by Association Les Militants Des Savoirs, the project coordinator. This session outlined the project’s objectives, its partnership network, and its expected contribution to improving institutional responses to sexual harassment and gender-based violence in universities.
A central part of the event was dedicated to the exchange of good practices among partner countries. Instituto Politécnico do Porto presented examples of prevention policies and institutional protocols, while FH Salzburg addressed training, awareness-raising, and victim-support mechanisms. These contributions emphasized the importance of clear procedures, trained university staff, accessible reporting pathways, and strong cooperation between academic institutions, support services, and external stakeholders.
The conference also featured a presentation of the PREV-HED digital tools, delivered by Femxa and Infalia, with a particular focus on the training platform and chatbot developed throughout the project. These tools are designed to support access to information, training, and reporting guidance, thereby complementing institutional human support services. Additionally, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos shared their piloting experience and the main lessons learned from testing these project outputs in higher education contexts.
A stakeholder panel discussion focused on transferring PREV-HED good practices to other institutions. Key insights were shared by Dr. Lu Liu (University Clermont Auvergne), Dr. Lucian Botea (Romanian-American University), Lisa Kiefinger (FH Salzburg), and Mihnea Constantin (Origio EDUNOVA). The debate addressed barriers to reporting, the importance of building trust in institutional procedures, staff training needs, and cooperation between universities, NGOs, student representatives, and specialized support services.
The event concluded with reflections on the relevance of the PREV-HED outcomes for higher education, followed by a networking session aimed at supporting further dissemination and exploitation of the project’s results. Participants were encouraged to utilize and promote the project materials, digital tools, and good-practice examples within their own institutions and professional networks.
