School of International Business

The School of International Business within the Romanian-American University offers an educational and research path at a high standard of quality, in an internal intellectually stimulating climate, both for students and for the teaching staff.

Guided by values such as the promotion of excellence, professional, moral and social responsibility, freedom of thought and expression, creativity and innovation, cooperation and communication, the School of International Business aims to find itself through academic performances, and not only, in the elite of business schools.

The study programs offered at bachelor and master level target the competencies and the international know-how in business development in various fields of activity, entrepreneurship and intrapreneury, internationalization of companies, intercultural management, strategic management, innovation and management of customer relations on international markets, management of projects with international funding, regional and international economic governance.

The international opening of the School of International Business is supported on the one hand by the organization of study programs taught in English, both at the level of bachelor studies – the “International Business” program, as well as at the level of master studies – the study programs “International Business and Entrepreneurship” and “International Economic Relations & Economic Diplomacy” – and,  equally, by the vast network of partnerships with universities in Europe, the USA, Japan and the Republic of Korea that offer students multiple opportunities to obtain scholarships at partner universities.

In addition, students from the bachelor programs “Afaceri Internaționale” and “International Business” can benefit from “double degree” partnership agreements with St. Francis College and Northwood University in the USA, which allow them to become graduates of both RAU and the two American educational institutions. Also, students from the master program International Economic Relations & European Union Studies (IEREUS), can benefit from “double degree” partnership agreement with University of York, UK.

Between 1991 until 2022, the school operated as the School of Domestic and International Business, Banking, and Finance. Starting with the 2022–2023 academic year, the school’s name was changed to the School of International Business.

At the beginning, the Romanian-American University represented just an option, which turned out to be the best choice. I always remember fondly the moments and people who determined me to take this decision. RAU represents a family, experiences, lifetime friends, feelings, competitivity and not only. I cannot stop smiling when I think of the support offered along these years, not only by my peers, but also by my teachers, in my attempt to combine school with work. It was RAU again, who offered me a professional perspective and the opportunity to travel in order to widen my horizon. […]

The knowledge I gained during college and the experience of the scholarship at James Madison University have made my confidence be my asset in everything I do in the company in which I work. They say that student years are the most beautiful, but if you have the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional teaching staff and have the chance of special colleagues, the memory of the student life becomes ubiquitous.

[…] To ensure that it has the best teachers, in contact with the practice, RAU has strong partnerships with strong companies both in order to combine the theory with the real professional life and in order to raise quality standards for students. I think reputation is given by the consistency with principles and compliance to the latter. Therefore, partnerships with the business area, the high quality of professors, lecturers and students are fundamental.

Every time I pass by the current building of the Romanian-American University I remember with pleasure the years I spent here. The years of university model your thinking, interpersonal relations, networking and how to address various issues: from planning how to study for an exam passed with success, to the design of a research project. I note that the Romanian-American University has shown that it is a sustainable educational project, while being a springboard for any Romanian student and not only. […]
