The World’s Robotics Elite Gathers at the Romanian-American University:
Bucharest Twin Cup 2026 Opens Its Doors!
From July 31st to August 2nd, 2026, the campus of the Romanian-American University becomes the epicenter of innovation and technology. The fourth edition of the Bucharest Twin Cup (BTC), the largest international invitational high school robotics competition in Europe, brings together 40 elite teams from Romania and abroad.
For three days, the modern campus of the Romanian-American University will host the most important technological showcase dedicated to young minds passionate about science, engineering, and innovation. Bucharest Twin Cup is not just a competition, but a true arena of excellence where the future is built in real time: over the past three years, world score records in the FIRST Tech Challenge season game have been set right on the BTC stage.
Innovation Without Borders: 40 Teams, 20 Strategic Alliances
This year’s edition brings together 40 top teams, competing in 20 strategic alliances:
- 32 teams from Romania, representing 15 cities across the country, from Timișoara (with the largest delegation of 6 teams) to cities like Curtea de Argeș, Câmpulung, and Alba Iulia.
- 8 international teams hailing from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Germany.
The alliance-based competition format encourages not only competition but also deep collaboration, placing strong emphasis on values such as fair play, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
“Bucharest Twin Cup is more than a competition; it is an incubator of ideas, a place where young people test their limits, learn from international collaborations, and create projects with real impact. The 2026 edition promises to raise the bar even higher,” stated the event organizers.
