Romanian-American University and Diamond Beach Club Sports Association Bring Beach Sports to the Heart of Bucharest: “Beach Sports Marathon” Kicks Off on October 3
The Romanian-American University, in partnership with the Diamond Beach Club Sports Association (DBCS), is launching the “Beach Sports Marathon,” a project carried out as part of the strategic partnership “Performance for Education.”
The event will take place from October 3 to 18, 2026, at the RAU Sport Center, on the grounds of Diamond Beach Arena. It aims to bring beach sports closer to the university community, promoting physical activity, an active lifestyle, and team spirit.
The project is structured around three complementary modules:
- Module I – Technical Courses (October 3–4 and 9–11): Participants will benefit from technical and tactical instruction provided by qualified coaches.
- Module II – Open Training Sessions (October 5–16, Monday–Thursday): Registered teams will be able to book training sessions on the courts at Diamond Beach Arena.
- Module III – Final Tournaments (October 16–18): The final competitions will determine the winners, and the event will conclude with a beach party for participants and supporters.
Beach sports offer an attractive alternative to training on hard surfaces. The natural resistance of sand contributes to a more demanding physical workout, while its more forgiving surface can help reduce impact on the joints. In addition, outdoor physical activity is an effective way to relieve everyday stress and strengthen team spirit.
The competition features five accessible disciplines that combine movement, skill, and a competitive spirit: beach volleyball, beach tennis, sand badminton, foot tennis, and ring – a dynamic game involving throwing and catching a rubber ring.

Following registration, participants will receive IDs and virtual cards allowing them to book training sessions through www.dbcs.ro or www.beacharena.ro. All sports equipment and materials are provided free of charge by the organizers.
