ONLINE VIDEO COURSES - FOR STUDENTS

The Romanian-American University has adopted the procedure for using Microsoft Office 365 to support online teaching activities.

Within the Romanian-American University, online teaching activities are carried out through the use of the solaris.rau.roplatform by teaching staff, undergraduate and master’s students. This includes students’ access to learning resources specific to the topics outlined in the course syllabus, as well as the possibility of instant messaging via the Microsoft Teams platform during the scheduled time slots, in accordance with the timetable published on www.rau.ro, for each teaching activity.

Depending on the specific nature of the course, teaching activities could be supplemented with homework assignments, laboratory work, and projects, published on the Microsoft Teams platform.

As a result of its use as a supplementary IT support tool for teaching activities, the Microsoft Office 365 platform, based on the existing licensing agreement, provides support for the following facilities:

  • conducting video conferences through the Microsoft Teams application, to which teaching staff, undergraduate and master’s students have free access via institutional email addresses (@rau.ro and @stud.rau.ro);

  • assigning customized academic tasks to undergraduate and master’s students, with predefined submission deadlines, through the Assignments option in the Microsoft Teams application;

  • real-time interactive group and individual discussions through the Chat option, available in the Microsoft Teams application;

  • conducting individual testing/assessment with a limited response time through the Quiz functionality and Microsoft Forms, enabling the evaluation of undergraduate and master’s students’ knowledge;

  • scheduling online teaching activities in accordance with the timetable already established for teaching activities, available at www.rau.ro;

  • defining and exercising a control mechanism regarding the conduct of online teaching activities.

  • ART.1. Ca urmare a aprobarii Consiliului de Administrație din 24.03.2020 se adoptă ca instrument informatic suport suplimentar pentru activitatea didactică, platforma Office 365, în baza contractului de licențiere existent, cu extinderea urmatoarelor facilitati:
    – realizarea de video-conferințe, prin aplicația Microsoft Teams, la care cadrele didactice, studenții și masteranzii au acces gratuit prin adresele de email instituționale (@profesor.rau.ro si @student.rau.ro);
    – alocarea de sarcini didactice personalizate catre studenti si masteranzi, cu termen prestabilit de predare, prin optiunea Assignments a aplicatiei Microsoft Teams;
    – discutii interactive de grup si individuale, in timp real, prin optiunea Chat, disponibile in aplicatia Microsoft Teams;
    – realizarea testarii individuale/evaluarii individuale, cu termen limitat de raspuns, prin functionalitatea Quiz si Microsoft Forms, care sa permita evaluarea cunostintelor studentilor si masteranzilor;
    – planificarea activitatii didactice on-line, conform orarului deja stabilit pentru activitatea didactica, disponibil la www.rau.ro;
    – definirea si exercitarea unui mecanism de control privind desfasurarea activitatii didactice in regim on-line.
  • ART.2. Cadrele didactice au obligatia sa puna la dispozitia studentilor si masteranzilor accesul la suportul de curs, in platforma https://paginamea.rau.ro si sa il prezinte in video-conferinta, prin platforma Microsoft Teams, conform orarului existent, disponibil la www.rau.ro. Pentru activitatile de seminar/laborator se va posta materialul didactic aferent si o tema de casa sau test, cu timp de raspuns limitat (prin optiunea Asignments/Microsoft Teams), prin care sa verifice parcurgerea materialelor de catre studenti si masteranzi;
  • ART.3. Evaluarea cunostintelor pe parcursul semestrului, se realizeaza in conformitate cu prevederile Regulamentului de activitate profesionala a studentilor si Fisa disciplinei;
  • ART.4. Activitatile didactice pentru care nu poate fi utilizat regimul online vor fi reprogramate dupa reluarea activitatii “fata in fata“, fiind aduse la cunostinta Directorului de Departament, Decanului si aprobate de Rector;
  • ART.5. Retribuirea orelor, in regim “plata cu ora“, precum si a normei de baza pentru activitatile online, se va realiza in baza pontajului individual semnat de titular si integrat in Pontajul colectiv de catre Directorul de Departament;
  • ART.6. Raportarea incidentelor tehnice/organizatorice, care au condus la neefectuarea activitatii didactice, conform orarului, se face de catre titularul de curs/seminar/laborator catre Decan, cu propunere de reprogramare a activitatii la un alt interval orar si eventuala notificare a Departamentului IT cu privire la natura incidentului tehnic;
  • ART.7. Verificarea desfasurarii activitatii didactice on-line se va face, in conformitate cu prevederile Statutului cadrului didactic si Legea 1/2011, de catre Decan/Prodecan, prin mecanismul AdminOnLine (identitate electronica asociata la toate cursurile cu drept de vizualizare a continutului, discutiilor si duratei de desfasurare).
